Appalachian Understories provides natural and cultural historic tourism in Appalachian Ohio, hiring local guides, historians, and naturalists to create outdoor experiences for people. Our tours allow participants to enjoy the natural beauty of SE Ohio while learning about the rich cultural history of the region.

Appalachian Understories tours lay the foundation for participants to forge lasting connections to the environment of Appalachian Ohio. A sense of wonder and pride in the natural world often motivates people to be advocates for the health of their environment. By showcasing local businesses during tours, Appalachian Understories helps to stimulate the local economy and support our neighbors. Our tours will draw upon the knowledge and passion of local people to provide participants with experiences rooted in community and place, all while supporting those who call this region home. Appalachian Undertories is a Rural Action social enterprise supported by Ohio's Winding Road.

Whether it be the their passion of cultural heritage or learning the intricacies of the forest their hearts lie in the foothills of Appalachia.
